I don't know about you, but summer feels like it has gone by in a flash again this year. There has been a subtle shift in the air, with temperatures in my neck of the woods easing off a bit and the humidity finally breaking. Can I get a "Hallelujah!"? Even though there is still a good month left of official summer, to me there is now a tiny hint of fall in the air. The bonus of the end of summer (okay, OTHER than the kids finally going back to school)? It's still peach season!! So, why not make the most of what's left of it with a beautiful salad that blends the best of both seasons? Sweet summer peaches and hearty sweet potatoes!

Cellulite. It's a topic that most women cringe over. It's frowned upon, making women believe they are "fat" or unattractive. The result - most women are on a never-ending mission to get rid of it. Today I am going to share with you some simple yet effective strategies to achieve this. However, before I dive into the details, I want to assure you that cellulite is normal and, if you have it, stop beating yourself up for not having the "perfect body". No one does! We can't airbrush our imperfections away like they do in every single image found in the media. By following the steps I share in this article, you will go a long way to not only reducing the appearance of your cellulite, but also improving your overall health and well-being and that, my friends, is what really matters.
There's a popular saying that I'm pretty sure you're probably familiar with. It goes "You are what you eat". My mom said this to me all the time as I was growing up, and I know I used to say it to my own children until I learned the real deal. That being, we're not what we eat, we're what we ABSORB.
Ahhh, summer. There are many reasons why it's my favourite season of the year. Hot days, warm nights, and life just seems to go at a slower pace leaving me with a feeling of having more ease in my life. But do you want to know what my secret favourite thing about summer is? Blueberries baby! Here in Ontario, July and August is wild blueberry season which means on any given day of the week you'll find me with a little purple mustache, purple teeth, purple fingernails and, most certainly purple stains on my light coloured clothing. But who cares? The season is short so my daily goal is to go big or go home. Get 'em while the gettin's good, am I right?
It is just after 9:00 on a mid-June morning, and it is already pushing 40 degrees Celsius outside my office door. For those readers who still follow the imperial temperature readings, that translates to 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. That also translates to SCORCHER, and we haven't even reached the high temperature for the day. As I came in from a very short walk with my dogs this morning I saw their big pink tongues lollygagging out of the side of their mouths as they headed straight for their water bowl to take a big long drink to cool off and rehydrate. I did the same - except I opted for a glass of mineral water with a squeeze of fresh lemon instead of their slobbery dog bowl. This was instant inspiration for me to write about the importance of hydration on hot summery days (and every day).
